One of the Buddhist meditations we practise is the sound of silence. Focusing on the sound behind sounds, the Nada sound. There are lots of theories about what the sound is. None are proven but some sound plausible. It is a very powerful meditation and once you find the Nada sound you can find it in the noisiest environments. It's a little like noticing the space around your body instead of your body itself.
